University representation

Our activities in a short overview: 

  • Budget management
  • Representation of student interests at the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences
  • Decision making on annual estimates, distribution of funds to student councils, and departments
  • Authority on decisions regarding the budget of the university representation together with the economic department
  • Opinions on law and regulation drafts
  • Sending of student representatives to the FH college and other committees
  • Coordination of the activities of the student representation and departments

The board team consists of the chairperson and a maximum of 2 deputies. The duties of the board team include:

  • Public representation of the ÖH FH Kärnten
  • Communication with the rectorate and management
  • Contact with federal representation
  • Overview maintenance

Committee work 

FH college

The FH Kollegium is the most important committee at the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences in which students can participate. The ÖH FH Kärnten can send 4 student representatives to this committee. The committee consists of a total of 18 people

In accordance with § 10 Abs 3 FHStG idgF the FH Kollegium has the following competencies and tasks:

  • It elects the rector and the deputy.

It deliberates over and decides:

  • Changes regarding accredited courses
  • The establishment of new and discontinuation of old courses and programs
  • The budget (investment, material and personnel expenses)
  • Proposals for the recruitment and removal of teaching and research staff to the maintainer
  • Awarding and revoking academic degrees, nostrification of foreign academic degrees, and awarding academic honors
  • Rules of procedure and statutes
  • Examination regulations for students and course participants
  • Examination of complaints about decisions of the course director.

It coordinates

  • The entire teaching operation in terms of content
  • The evaluation of the entire teaching operation including examination regulations and study plans.
