ÖH- Elections
The ÖH election takes place every two years and is a nationwide election (in contrast to the election of the year representatives) with a central election authority and official ballot papers. Elections are held at three levels:
- Federal representation (nationwide election)
- University representation (FH Carinthia)
Students at a university can choose from a variety of lists when electing a university representative. According to the election results, the mandates for the university representation are distributed among the individual lists. The university representation at the Carinthian University of Applied Sciences consists of 9 female mandates. It is the highest body of student representation of interests at a university and represents the students' concerns vis-à-vis the university of applied sciences and the ministries. Here you can only vote for a list and no individuals. - Student representation (FH Carinthia)
The election of a study representative is an election of persons, i.e. candidates are directly elected as representatives to one of the 5 study representatives. Depending on the number of students, the student councils are composed of 3 or 5 persons, are direct contact points for students and class representatives and have their budget available, e.g. for events, projects or purchases in the degree programmes.
Currently, there are two factions in the university representation that take care of your concerns and needs and represent you to the outside world.
